Michaela Augustin, Ayurvedic Therapist - Yoga teacher

My passion for movement and life started in early years being trained in art gymnastics and dance. I followed my interest to increase the quality of my life and my love for healing and I never stopped developing my skills in this direction.

I enjoy working with people offering spiritual and bodily awareness in a playful way and believe that learning and expanding can be fun. I lived and worked in Germany, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, China and India increasing my ability to adapt easily in any life circumstance.

I am a Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic practitioner and massage therapist with over 15 years experience. Other areas of experience include Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nutrition, Homeopathy, Chi Gong, Thai Chi and self enquiry.

Yoga retreats

Running an annual 2-3 week retreat in India incorporating:

  • Yoga practice
  • Teaching in Ayurvedic Principles and cooking lessons
  • Explanations of Indian Mythology and temples
  • Spiritual teachings from the Vedas (Satsang)

Key Achievements:

  • Creation of my own Yoga style called Zodiac Yoga incorporating the astrological system
  • Graduating with a BSc in Ayurveda

1993-1995 Diploma in Homeopathy 2 year training at the Homeopathic College in Manchester.
1997-1999 Certificate in Tuina and Chi Kung Tuina is an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which also encompasses acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and exercise to treat the whole body, mind and spirit.
2000-2002 Certificate in Ayurveda and Yoga 1 year course in Ayurveda in Varanasi at the BHU ( Banaris Hindu University) and the Tilak in Puna.
1 year course at the School of Yoga in Banaras in Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Bhanda and Mudra.
2002-2004 Certification in Ayurveda With the American Institute of Vedic Studies. Insured with the Holistic Insurance Service. Member of the APA (Ayurvedic Practitioners Association).
2006-2009 BSc Ayurveda 3 year full time degree from Middlesex University.
2008-2009 CPD Certificates 3 – 5 days Ayurvedic seminars with Dr. Vasant Lad in: clinical evaluations and clinical assessments.
2010-2011 Certificate in Amnanda Therapy Similar to Reiki, releasing none beneficial energies locked on the cellular level to promote relaxation and rejuvenation.
